AI has significantly sped up my overall workflow, but it hasn't replaced the need for design judgment. Its output still needs to be reviewed and pressure-tested against user needs and constraints. But it has helped challenge my thinking and get to better decisions faster. :)
I use AI to pressure-test my thinking early, throwing in a PRD or problem statement and asking questions like “What assumptions are we making?”, or “What are alternative ways to approach this?” to uncover gaps and consider perspectives I may not have initially thought of.
AI is great for quickly generating multiple solution directions and variations. Some become useful starting points, while others challenge my assumptions or introduce ideas I wouldn't have explored on my own.
Using vibe coding and tools like Figma Make and Claude, I can turn an idea into a functional prototype quickly. This helps me get early alignment and explore technical feasibility before investing time in polished designs.
AI can quickly synthesize interviews and feedback, identify themes and help create documentation. This gives me more time to focus on interpreting the findings and making design decisions.
